June Meeting
We are exceptionally lucky to have Tony and Jenny Enderby come and speak to us this month on their recent visit to Patagonia.
Patagonia is a geographic region containing the southernmost portion of South America. Located in Argentina and Chile, it comprises the southernmost portion of the Andes mountains to the west and south, and plateau and low plains to the east.
The Enderby's have some wonderful pictures of their time there including arrival/departure from Buenos Aires, Valdez Peninsula in Argentina (their personal highlight), Iguazu and a wetlands area called Ibera.
We shall also take this opportunity to thank the Enderby's for their wonderful service to the club as Editors of the Poirieria Journal.
The meeting shall be held at Epsom Community Centre, 202 Gillies Avenue, Epsom on Tuesday 9th June. Feel free to arrive from 7:00 pm onwards with the meeting commencing at 7:30 pm.
As usual there will be lucky door prizes (thanks to Doug and Judith Snook), supper, shells for sale and a great chance to catch up with fellow club members. See you there!
Shell Auction
Lots are still available for the upcoming Shell Auction on 10th October.
Please contact Jan to book your lots (cut off booking date 30th June). Actual lot lists are not required until 10th August.
We thank Ena Coucom for her donation to the club which shall be put up for auction on this date.
May Meeting
Many thanks to Heather Smith for her wonderful talk on her recent South Island trip at last month's meeting. The 18 members present thoroughly enjoyed being caught up in Heather's enthusiasm!

Does anyone have a sturdy sinistral shell (needed by a teacher for science)?
It does not need to have data—any condition gratefully accepted! Contact Margaret Morley. (Refer previous contact details).

Club Name
Following on from our AGM: Martin Walker, President forwarded a letter to the Auckland Museum Institute (AMI) enquiring as to whether it would be appropriate for the Conchology Section Auckland Museum Institute (CSAMI) to have a "working name" for the club without affecting our affiliation with the AMI.
This was discussed at the latest AMI meeting and they have responded favourably. At this stage the proposed name addition is Auckland Shell Club.
We would like to vote on the name at our July meeting. If you have any comments, suggestions or opinion that you would like taken into consideration on this topic, please forward to Jan Munroe, Secretary prior to the July meeting.
