Greetings from the President.
Both Nancy Smith and Bruce Hazelwood are well and active again shelling. Many thanks to Margaret Morley for presenting an illustrated account of her recent tour of the South Island at our July meeting. Some of our Auckland members were overseas at the time but all who attended are now busy planning future trips to the 'mainland'!
Patricia Langford is off for a three month trip to the UK. We look forward to hearing a report of her experiences in shelling and checking out shell contacts.

Next Meeting: Tuesday 13th August 7:30 pm at the Museum.
Entrance by the rear Admin door between 7:15-7:30pm. We regret there can be no late admittance due to security regulations. Mystery door prizes!
Speakers: Our President Doug Snook will be speaking on the WW Family of Volutidae and Bruce Hazelwoed will speak on NZ Votutidae. The two speakers will discuss a large variety of specimens from their own collections. There will also be an eclectic selection of volutes on display.
Feature Shells: WW and NZ Volutidae. Please bring along a selection of your own volutes for discussion.

Shell Auction 2002. The shell auction will be held on Sun. Nov 10th at the Albany Hall, Albany. Please mark this date in your diary now!

The Chatham Is. Tour - Jan 2003. is now fully booked !

3 Day Field Trip to Little Barrier Is. (max. 12 people only in the DoC bunk house) on the 15-17th October is almost full. If you are planning to come please contact Rosa (AK) 620-4523 for details.

Lord Howe Is. tour Sept. 2003. Contact Heather Smith, ph. (AK) 524-5068.

Alessandro Petronziis, an Italian shell collector with an interest in cowries; vitellus and cernica, and xenophora; neozelandica and kermadecensis.
