August Meeting Update
About 16 members attended to hear an always enthusiastic Heather Smith regale us with anecdotes, stories and dramas of her exciting trip to Australia earlier this year.
Heather attended both the Townsville and Yeppoon Shell Shows and was able to give us some hints and tips as to what makes a successful show ... as well as what makes for a successful tray!
Yes, Heather did well in the competitions also. Her travels with Bob and Betty Grange and Jenny Raven sounded enviable.
We also thank Rosa Tyson for her contribution with photos from her recent trip to Australia - although not a shell in sight some beautiful foliage - thank you Rosa.
Peter Poortman reports that plans for next year's shell show are proceeding well with visitors expected from Wellington and Australia. A small auction shall be held late Saturday with up to 50 worldwide and New Zealand lots of quality and value, and memorabilia.
If you are able to assist on the Shell Show Committee with organization, please contact Peter.
